PGE’s power system analysis department conducts comprehensive studies, assessments, and simulations to ensure the reliable, efficient, and safe operation of the power system.
Our key services include:
- Protection coordination studies
- Power flow analysis
- Short circuit current analysis
- Contingency analysis
- Dynamic stability studies
- Computation of electrical parameters of overhead transmission lines
- Hardware-in-the-Loop testing
PGE’s experts provide an analysis of the protection system settings and offer comprehensive recommendations for setting the protection systems in power generation, transmission, and distribution. These recommendations are in accordance with internationally recognized standards or the internal standards of the customers. Specialized software such as PSS®CAPE or ASPEN is utilized for this purpose. Utilizing standards, expertise, and experience, a team of qualified electrical engineers proposes solutions with an optimal balance between dependability and security of protection systems.
PGE’s team has over 10 years of experience in performing relay setting calculations and protection coordination studies for power plants (with a total capacity exceeding 1000 MVA), transmission systems (up to 400 kV), and distribution system. Furthermore, our team possesses extensive expertise in the development of criteria for calculating protective relays settings.
